Some Bads News & Some Really Good News..

Last week I mentioned that I had some pretty exciting news to announce for this week’s post. And it’s true, I do. But first I have to give a little context, which includes getting the bad news out of the way.

So the bad news is that Mum has just informed me she is leaving for St. Lucia, Caribbean, this weekend. And she’s staying there for almost a full two weeks! I never like it when Mum leaves, especially when she doesn’t take me with her.. and especially when it’s a place like St. Lucia. Plus, she’s already been there before. This is how she teased me last time she went (real photo).

She’s returning there to stay once again with the wonderful Oasis Marigot Hotel & Villas, if anyone’s interested! Unfortunately it’s not that easy for dogs to travel there, which is why I’m not invited (and I guess why Dad’s not either).

But oh well, I’ve gone through this situation several times before – such as when she went to the Cayman Islands, which is when I tried to stowaway with her.

Can you believe these puppy eyes didn’t work?

Anyway, I’m not going to try that this time because there’s something good in all this for me.

When Mum first told me the news of her upcoming departure, I threw a bit of a fit, I’ll admit. Why does she get to go on so many vacations when she isn’t even the celebrity in the family? And it’s been what – 2 months since my last vacation? That’s borderline unacceptable in my books. A celebrity should be having a vacation at least once every quarter. However, I did have a great time on my recent trip to Maine!

Although, she was quick to remediate the situation by pointing out that my birthday is coming up soon (October 28), and that this year I might be entitled to something a little more.. well, ‘special’.

Sidenote about my birthday: I realize that shopping online can take time with shipping and all, so please consider this fair warning for my birthday (again, October 28). You can have all gifts addressed directly to Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund in Ottawa, Canada. The postman will know where to find me. In fact, I made sure that he’ll never forget me.. I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say I pulled something similar to this:

So considering that it’s my birthday soon, and that Mum is leaving me here for two weeks with Dad, and that it’s been a full 2 months without my own vacation, Mum and Dad are letting me choose our next vacation destination, which is already set for the end of this November!

Woohoo!

I can’t wait! Now I haven’t had a whole lot of time to think about possibilities, so I’m looking to my fans for some ideas. Although, considering my last vacation was to Maine.. I’m thinking somewhere warm. Perhaps tropical.. ; )

After all, I still haven’t had a chance to use my snorkel gear that I got last Christmas..

Bikini babes, sandy beaches, sea breezes.. Those are all my deciding factors.

So fans, what do you think? Where should I go that’s nice and warm? Let me know in the comment section and of course on my Facebook timeline!

Keep ballin’,

  1. Go to key west! You are sure to catch lots of babes, dachshunds are very popular in the conch republic! They even have an annual dachshund parade down there!

  2. I vote for Hollywood! You could hit all the celebrity hang-outs, go on a “Homes of the Stars” tour, see the movie/TV studios, and all the historical highlights (the LaBrea Tar Pits are a must see!).

  3. I agree that you’d love Key West because it’s very dog-friendly. You’d be a star everywhere you go. The down side is, believe it or not, Key West doesn’t have really great beaches. How about San Diego? I’ve heard it’s nice.

  4. Crusoe, I’m guessing you are allowed to fly …. (Ms Stinko aka my mom won’t let me !!).
If that’s the case St Marteen in the French side or Lake Como in Italy with a stop in Milan. We are big in Italy !!!!

  5. Crusoe – may I suggest Hawaii – tropical and lots of “babes” on leashes! And you can not only snorkel but try your paws at surfing…now while mom is gone practice the sad abandonment look that my Hooligans have perfected, I know you can do it, after all you are better than Underdog…cuter too I might add. 🙂 Puppy Hugs~Patty

  6. Hi Mr. C., Even though I live in sunny San Diego now, I vote for Hollywood! I grew up there and even graduated from Hollywood High! I’d be happy to show you all of the Dog Parks where the dogs of human celebrities hang out. No dogs more famouos than you, Crusoe.

  7. Crusoe, it’s snoopy the dachshund and I just wanna say I am huge fan! Can I have your address? I just want to send u a present! I swear! 🙂

  8. Virginia beach, VA…all the sun and fun you could ask for. Hot babes on the beach. My Izzy Belle would have NO problems showing you around town!!!

  9. For your next vacation, why not go to Ocean City, MD? They only allow dogs there in the winter, so if your busy with holidays, it probably isn’t the best place to go. Or you could just come to my house and we could run on the beach together… hint, hint. we have a great view of the key bridge, and my dad (i guess he would be my grand dad) says we have the best crabs and seafood around! My dad would welcome any dogs and he loves your blog.

PS: I would love to see you do another cooking with crusoe

  10. Crusoe, Franklin the miniature Black and Tan longhaired. Dachshund here. I live in Miami and spend lots of time on South Beach. Every January we have Dachshund Winterfest on South Beach. It is usually very warm and lots of fun. You should cast a vote to come to South Beach next year. I was photographed this year and should be on the funpawcare.com website soon. I am the one dressed as a flying monkey from the Wizard of Oz. Would love to meet you, just don’t move in on my chicks. Franklin
