After what felt like a drive that would never end, we finally reached our vacation destination – Trenton, Maine, which is not far from Bar Harbor.
I am more than pleased with the private house I rented. It has an amazing view over the ocean with plenty of coastline all to myself. There’s even a hot tub here! Now just to find some babes – but it being Maine, I haven’t seen many.
There is even our very own boat to use, so I can go fishing anytime I want! What more could I ask for? Here’s me trotting down the dock to our little fishing boat moored off to the left.
After a little zippity-doo tour in the boat, we finally got the chance to admire the house from the water. All I can say is that this is definitely a celebrity vacation ; )
Now as you know, I’ve been to Florida several times before, but I guess I just forgot that ocean water is salty, because when we arrived I ran down to the shore and starting lapping in big gulps. After about my third gulp I realized it was NOT the fresh lake water I’m used to, and I started hacking it up like a cat does a furball. Yick – not doing that again!
So for our first full day there, we went to visit the famous Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
The first half of the day was at the park. I would have liked to say that we hiked up Cadillac Mountain, wherein the view would have been that much more rewarding, but we took the lazy way of driving up (as do most people). Besides, we had too much to do to spend the whole day hiking. Here is me at the top, doing what I would say as; ‘admiring my kingdom’.
Now as you know, I am a dog of knowledge and reason, and so I like reading all the signs of the places I go. It just makes it more interesting when you know what you’re looking at.
So anyway, here’s me trying to spot this so-called ‘Granite’ creature they say that lives here..
After that, it was off to the Bar Harbor village, where we enjoyed a nice seafood lunch on the wharf. I couldn’t help but hop up on this post to pose for a quick picture at the entrace of the restuarant. You see when you’re a celebrity, you have always have to be thinking – ‘what would the fans want to see..?’
I’m not sure what they had to eat there, but boy did it smell good! After all, salmon is my favorite food (which is natural, being a fisherman and all).
It was all those good smells that got me in the mood for some real fishing the next day!
Luckily, the place we rented even a few lobster traps. So we were off to see what we could catch!
The first step though is to set the trap, which if you follow me on Facebook you will know I had a bit of trouble with. I finally got it when I realized I should be on the outside of the cage, as a few of my Facebook fans so kindly pointed out to me..
So, we set the traps that night. The next morning I was ever-so-eager to see what they had in store for me! Here’s me saying, ‘pull faster, pull faster!’
I was so happy when I saw that we caught one! My first-ever lobster!
I was a bit disturbed by how ugly they were though. I didn’t even feel like attacking it (which is strange for me). But I guess that’s a good thing.
Hopefully it tastes better than it looks. I’ll find out soon and let you know.
Stay tuned for more of my adventures in Maine, and of course, more lobster fishing!
Keep ballin’,

We, Glory and Pogo, are so glad you are having a good vacation, even if we are a little jealous.
Two Little Wieners, Glory and Pogo
What an awesome vacation for any dog let alone a celebrity Crusoe. Very nice. Stay away from the lobster. That poor nose of yours doesn’t need another cut.
You said it!

What an amazing vacation. Chester and Gretel are jealous. We went on a road trip ourselves recently to BlogPaws but Salk Lake City wasn’t nearly as beautiful as it was there.
Thanks Jess. So you enjoyed BlogPaws? Seems like you got a lot of insights from going there!
[…] When Mum first told me the news of her upcoming departure, I threw a bit of a fit, I’ll admit. Why does she get to go on so many vacations when she isn’t even the celebrity in the family? And it’s been what – 2 months since my last vacation? That’s borderline unacceptable in my books. A celebrity should be having a vacation at least once every quarter. However, I did have a great time on my recent trip to Maine! […]
